• BUSY

Since Angela and Gigi's unexpected sick leave, I've become much busy this week. Eva had to help to handle Angela's assignments, and I had to replace Eva to support team leaders. For example, Trust-Mart Headcount Model Optimization Project led by Karen, was the major task I took charge. Four regions(102 stores)' headcount data combination, analysis and model development, all the work needed much patientness and carefulness, meanwhile, sharp data sensitiveness was aslo a request.

I was gald to see my dedication had been admitted by my leaders. And moreover, I should still keep striving for the excellence, which is also one of the key beliefs of Wal-Mart.

Tomorrow is the last working day of this week, but I have got couples of unfinished tasks, which will meet their deadlines tomorrow, such as SSC(Shared Service Centre) data support, KPI(Key Performance Index) data support, Trust-Mart transfers' information update, Interns/Temps recruitment, and Contacts Continuation of July and August.

Keep moving and striving for excellence!

Owing to the Visa appointment is approaching, I need more time to take an all-around preparation. And at the same time, I need to kick off the scheme for next month's US trip.

P.S   the SEVIS fee costed me $200. Damn!

Recently, I have learnt much from Gail, a pretty girl and the assistant to Vice President of Wal-Mart China. I appreciate her attitude towards life and congratulate on her achievement of her dreams.

  • Surprising Opportunity

The CHALLENGE and OPPORTUNITY are appearing simultaneously in Wal-Mart China Home Office. That is the most impressive point I've got since I started the internship on 23rd of last month. In fact, I've faced tons of challenge in my daily work including work skills,English skills, computer skills as well as the comunication skills which I should pay more attention to practise. I've ever been quite embarrassed and depressed about my fool work performance. Another embarrassing experience equally drived me crazy since my inattention made the achievement disappeared totally after the whole afternoon's dedicated work. However, it's true that I've learnt much from each embarrassing experience.

On the other hand, I was surprised about the opportunities I've got during the past 40 days. Firstly, It's amazing to know there are 1/3 of teammates graduated from GDUFS, including HR Director--Andy Chen, Senior Manager--Didy Wong, Manager-- Ricky Zheng and Vivian Mo. I feel pretty warm working in such a team. In addition, I've taken more responsibilities since I got used to my work, and it's a good chance to learn some specific skills and knowledge, such as the analysis skill and communication skill. At the same time, it's a distinct opportunity to find out the current situation and future plan of Wal-Mart China, particularly it's Human Resources Operation. Further more, I felt very glad that I got a chance to talk with Calra Wong, the Vice President of Wal-Mart China. Her nice advice benefitted a lot. And I also would like to appreciate her kindly recommendation in advance. Finally, the big big surprising opportunity came to me yesterday. The Senior Director of Wal-Mart Global Home Office in USA--Trent Burner began his one week trip in China yesterday. Our team will spend the whole week with him for the Orgnization Optimization Training. Incrediblely, he is also the professor of Akansas University and Harding University where I wanna go in August of this year. He told me just let him know when I arrive there, and he will show me around in AR. I appreciate that! I'm looking forward to that and I do hope I can get the opportunity to attend his classes.

In the end, I wanna express my great appreciation once again to my teammates(Andy, Didy, Karen, Ricky, Eva, Fiona, Miya, Ben, Angela, Gigi, Vivian, Tony, Sophia, Susan and Vinter) as well as Clara and Trent. Thank you!

  • Wal-Mart Campus Talk in GDUFS

I have to say, Wal-Mart Campus Talk in Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was quite successful and definitely met the expectation of our WM team. It mainly falls into two aspects:

    1. Wonderful presentation and large numbers of students' participation.Particularly the part given by Henry was praised by all participants. He shared his simple and excellent experience with us as well as gave us much valuable suggestion, just like we were communicating with a kind and approachable elder brother. And one more thing, Henry gave his sharing talk only in GDUFS.Consequently, we schoolfellows were pretty lucky:)

    2. As many applicants(including the ones without tickets) as possible could take the test which could absolutely not be seen in other target Universities. Here I wanna send my great appreciation to Anna and Vera. Without them, the no-ticket-guys would definitely lose their chance to take the exam. Actually, the initial plan was "No ticket,no test"  which seemed not very reasonable. However, with our great effort to persuade the Wal-mart Recruitment Team and Classroom Management Centre, finally, our requirement of adding more test opportunities was approved. Thanks for Anna, Vera, Frank, Eric as well as the Class Management Centre.

Furthermore, it was pretty exciting to meet lots of WM associates again. Helen,Henry,Frank,Eric,Maybo......it was just like a family reunion. They are really nice guys.:)

In the end, I would like also to thank for Waya and Katze. Thanks for your help.:) And moreover, good luck to all applicants. God bless you. :)
